Air Conditioning Installation, Repair & Replacement

Our technicians install and replace air conditioning systems from the manufacturers we carry, and we repair and maintain any brand you already have. If your unit has failed at the end of its service life, we'll walk you through energy-efficient replacement options. If it's still running well but you're due for an upgrade, we'll help you compare makes and models against your home's actual cooling needs.

Wrentham was settled in 1660 and incorporated in 1673, and the homes clustered around its original town center on South Street predate central ductwork by centuries. If you're in one of these older homes, a retrofit approach, whether high-velocity or ductless, is usually a better fit than trying to force in a standard central-air system.

Air Duct Installation, Sealing & Replacement

Our team handles air ducts installation, sealing, and replacement, whether you're finishing new construction or dealing with ductwork that's reached the end of its life. Leaky or torn ducts let conditioned air escape before it ever reaches your rooms, driving up your bills without you noticing.

In established neighborhoods like Fox Run and Kings Grant, homes tend to be older and well-built, which also means original ductwork is more likely to be reaching the point where seams have loosened and insulation has broken down. A duct inspection is a quick way to find out if that's part of why a room runs hot or cold.

Boiler Repair, Replacement & Maintenance

Our boilers services cover inspection, repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance. If something's off with your boiler, we'd rather catch it on an inspection than have you find out the hard way in January.

Wrentham grew up as a mill village around Lake Pearl, and a good number of the homes in that original settlement area still run on their original hydronic or boiler systems. Keeping an older boiler properly maintained is usually the more cost-effective path than a premature replacement.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation & Service

As a Carrier Certified Ductless Pro, our team installs, replaces, repairs, and maintains ductless systems for homes that need zone-by-zone comfort without new ductwork.

Sheldonville, Wrentham's quieter outlying village toward the Bellingham line, is home to a lot of older, more rural properties that were never built with central ductwork. That's exactly the kind of housing stock where ductless makes the most sense, since it delivers heating and cooling room by room without opening up walls or ceilings for ducts.

Furnace Installation, Repair & Replacement

A furnace that's struggling in November rarely fixes itself by January. Our furnace services cover installation, replacement, repair, and maintenance, so your system is ready before the temperature drops.

Newer developments like Wampanoag Estates and the homes around Mirror Lake were built out with more standard forced-air construction, which makes them a good match for straightforward furnace service and replacement. No unusual retrofit work required, just making sure the unit and ductwork are sized and maintained correctly.

Heat Pump Installation & Cold-Climate Heating

A heat pumps system gives you efficient heating and cooling from one piece of equipment, cutting your energy use compared to running separate systems. We handle installation, replacement, repair, and maintenance.

Wrentham sits right off I-495 at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets interchange, and it's a town that's grown steadily along that corridor. A lot of homeowners here are electrifying as they upgrade, and the timing works in their favor: Mass Save's 2026 whole-home heat pump rebate runs up to $8,500, and equipment has to use an A2L refrigerant like R-454B to qualify, which is exactly what our Puron Advance Trained technicians are set up to install.

HVAC Maintenance Plans

Regular maintenance keeps your system running efficiently year-round and helps you avoid breakdowns during the coldest and hottest stretches of the year.

Homes around Lake Archer see a lot of tree cover and shoreline vegetation, which means more seasonal pollen and leaf debris finding its way into outdoor units and air intakes than a typical inland property. A maintenance plan catches that before it becomes an airflow or efficiency problem.

Indoor Air Quality Solutions

We offer a full range of indoor air quality products and services to help you breathe easier at home.

Families in the neighborhoods that feed into the King Philip Regional school district tend to spend a lot of time at home together, and indoor air quality matters more when kids are dealing with seasonal allergies or asthma. A properly sized filtration or ventilation setup can make a real difference beyond what a standard air filter handles on its own.

Zone Control Systems

A zone control systems setup lets you heat and cool different areas of your home independently, so you're not paying to condition rooms nobody's using.

Wrentham covers just under 23 square miles, from the historic homes near the town center to newer subdivisions further out toward the outlets, and additions and multi-level layouts are common across both. Zone control is often the fix for a house where one part never seems to match the thermostat setting for the rest.

Why Wrentham Homeowners Choose JBD HVAC

Homeowners in Wrentham get the same thing every JBD customer gets: Jim on the phone, not a dispatcher reading off a script. He leads every job himself, Shawna will walk you through scheduling and your Mass Save rebate paperwork, and Dominic's usually right there with Jim getting the work done. We've won Carrier's President's Award five years running, and on top of our Factory Authorized Dealer status, our team is certified as an Indoor Air Quality Expert and Puron Advance Trained, so you're getting technicians who actually know the newest equipment, not just a badge on a website. We're based just down the road in Franklin, and we're out in Wrentham all the time.

Wrentham, MA HVAC Repair & Installation Questions, Answered

My home is near the old Wrentham Developmental Center historic district and still has its original boiler. Should I repair it or replace it?

Age isn't the deciding factor here, the boiler's repair history matters more. A boiler that's been properly maintained can often keep running efficiently for years past what you'd expect just from looking at the home's age. If a major component fails, we'll walk you through the actual repair-versus-replacement numbers rather than just guessing.

My AC is running, but my Wrentham home still feels warm upstairs. What's going on?

It's one of the calls we get most often, and airflow is usually the real culprit, not the compressor. A leaky duct run, a clogged filter, or a system that was never quite sized for a two-story home can all leave the upstairs lagging behind the rest of the house. Most of the time, one visit is enough for a technician to pin down which one it is.

How do I know if I should repair or replace my furnace before winter?

A widely used industry guideline is the 50% rule: if a single repair would cost more than about half the price of a new system, replacement is usually the better long-term value, especially on a furnace nearing 15-20 years old. We'll give you real numbers for both options rather than pushing you toward either one.

Is a ductless mini-split a realistic option for an older Wrentham home without existing ductwork?

Yes. That's exactly the situation ductless was designed for. Instead of opening up walls or ceilings to run new ducts, a ductless system uses a small line set that can typically be routed through an exterior wall, giving you zone-by-zone heating and cooling without a major renovation.

What Mass Save rebates are available for a heat pump installation in Wrentham in 2026?

As of 2026, Mass Save's whole-home heat pump rebate runs up to $8,500 (at $2,650 per ton), with a separate partial-home tier available at a lower rate. Qualifying equipment now has to use an A2L refrigerant such as R-454B rather than older R-410A systems. Our office handles the rebate paperwork and Mass Save HEAT Loan application as part of the install process.

Why does my Wrentham home feel humid all summer even though the AC is running?

Wrentham has more lakes and ponds than most of its neighboring towns, and that shows up as higher ambient humidity for a lot of homes here in the summer. An AC system is built to cool air, not necessarily to dehumidify it on its own, especially if it's oversized for the space or short-cycling. A whole-home dehumidifier or a properly sized system can address the humidity directly instead of just running the AC longer and hoping it helps.

Is zone control worth adding to a multi-level Wrentham home?

If you've got rooms or floors that never match the thermostat setting for the rest of the house (a common issue in homes with additions or finished upper floors), zone control is usually a more targeted fix than adjusting the whole system's settings and hoping for the best.

Customer Reviews

August 20, 2025

We recently had a new heating system installed and chose to add central A/C. We chose JBD after Jim had come to our home to look at the job. He was very thorough, explained things very well in a way we could understand, and answered our questions. He was polite and friendly and made us feel very comfortable about our decision to add A/C-a considerable expense. We chose JDB after soliciting several estimates from other companies. JBD's pricing was very reasonable and, having read the reviews for the brand he proposed and we chose, I knew we were making a good decision. The work was scheduled to take place over 2 days, 7/1 and 7/2. We were informed and confirmed by by the office so we knew the project date was right on target. Jim and his assistant, Dominic, arrived early and worked very hard for 2, long days! They were meticulous in preparing and protecting the floors and carpeted staircase with quilted fabric dropcloths--the kind typically used by moving companies to protect furniture. This was important to us as the basement floor is new and in pristine condition. They were meticulous at cleaning up when the job was completed. Upon completion, Jim explained and showed us the various parts of the new system, and also showed us how to operate the new thermostat (the one he had recommended we replace our previous one with and we're glad we took his advice). We can't say enough about Jim, Shawna (office manager), and Dominic! All of them were wonderful to deal with; friendly, helpful, understanding, patient, professional and meticulous! We would hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services. We are thoroughly enjoying the comfort of central air! Gold stars for all of you! Thank you JBD!
